Erledigungsbestätigung: bank slip often fails

The Erledigungsbestätigung (creditor confirmation of settlement) is often the decisive exhibit for early deletion from the Schuldnerverzeichnis: a clear written statement from the creditor (or their representative) that the claim underlying the entry is fully satisfied.

What an Erledigungsbestätigung is

Wording that causes trouble

Risk if the confirmation only says:

• “Principal settled”
• “File closed” / “matter completed”
• “We do not object to deletion” (without full satisfaction)

Better (substance, not a legal template): clear that the claim underlying the entry is fully paid: including relevant ancillary amounts that form part of the claim.

What if you do not have the confirmation?

1. Check whether you have paid and whether interest/costs remain open.
